About CWAA

In 2017 Caroline founded Caroline Wright Art Advisory. Her foundation in curatorial practice and education, combined with her career-long experience and joy of working with artists and arts professionals, informs and inspires her services for all clients. Caroline strives to assemble multifaceted art collections that reflect the values and the uniqueness of the client and offer visual and intellectual engagement over time.

Caroline earned an MA in modern and contemporary art from the University of Virginia and a BA in studio art, art history and journalism from Washington and Lee University. Her work in art education includes jobs in museums, non-profit galleries, high schools, colleges and universities. From 2011 – 2016 she worked as Director of Exhibition Programming at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond where she curated contemporary art exhibitions in an extensive range of media and styles, working with emerging and established artists to create site-specific installations of new work. During her time at VisArts, exhibitions received repeated support from the National Endowment for the Arts and critical reviews in Artforum. Before moving to Richmond, Caroline worked at the National Gallery of Art and Monticello and served as a Governor-appointed member of the North Carolina State Art Society Board of the North Carolina Museum of Art, serving as vice-chair of the committee overseeing acquisitions. In recent years she served as a Virginia Commission for the Arts Panelist and Board Member / Board President of 1708 Gallery.

CWAA’s past work reflects both an interest in the international art world and commitment to Richmond's arts community. With an approach that dovetails global and local engagement, Caroline Wright offers a bespoke advisory service tailored to her clients’ specific interests and goals.
